To start with I'll give you some background. I freely admit that I am VERY new to all of this and would freely admit that I am a home cinema pleb. Please speak s l o w l y when replying so that I may ingest your wisdom.

I have up until now, been running my dvd through a technics DPL system (EP600 I think) but I have recently purchased a Pioneer VSX-D14-S Receiver. OK it was a christmas present. I have "Auditioned" Canton 10 mx II speakers and found the quality fantastic. The advice I need is this. Can I run the Canton 10 mx II, or the CD1 package from the amp. The amp is rated at 100 watts a channel and the speakers max at 80. I know that I will never crank them right up, but is there something I have missed. The impedence rating is right. any advice gratefully received :D
