    Hi,

I'm in need of help picking what speaker package to go for. I'm going to be getting a Denon 2805 to use with it. Any sugestions, I have a budget of £1200.00 although I could go up a bit if there was a significant difference in sound quality.

Oh and I have quite a small living room so nothing too massive although I'm not against floorstanders ;)

    Thanks in advance

The Castle compacts would be a great choice for around £1k – probably the most musical sub/sat package at that price.

Hi thanks, I haven't looked at those so I'll do so now.

What do you think about the M&K K5's? They are more expensive but they got a decent review in Home Cinema magazine, if they can be trusted?

    Hi sarah
The m&ks are excellent movie speakers very dynamic but they arnt to everyones taste with music, best to have a listen first, quite a few sevenoaks stock them so getting a demo should'nt be difficult.
The castle compact would be a better compromise if you do listen to a lot of music.
    Cheers Gonzo. :)

Monitor Audio Radius should probably be right up there on your list...loads of combinations to choose from.

Yes, they are definitely good speakers. If you are more into movies and DVDs, maybe you can try out the Mordaut-Short Genies. They have excellent reviews from most Hi-Fi magazines and websites.

    Hi sarah
The m&ks would be excellent for what you want and will stand a few upgrades from the rest of your kit they also keep their price well if you ever come to sell them.
    Cheers Gonzo.

Hi Giz, I'm going to speak to Sevenoaks to see if I'm able to demo them.

Also does anyone know how the Tannoy Arenas compare to the M&K K5's?

    Hi Sarah,

K5 is a great choice! works very well with Denon. consider the K15 as well quite a step up in performance for very little cost difference.
Also we have just received our B&W M-1 speakers, build and finish are stunning! hopefully i will be able to evaluate them soon, but based on first impressions i think they could be pretty good!!

    Enjoy!

Hi Craig, let me know what they sound like when you have a chance!

Also how do the Tannoy Arenas, Sib & Co packages compare to these?
