Most likely it was because your fronts and centre are from different manufacturers.

It is generally accepted that having at least the front 3 speakers from the same range is a good idea as it makes for a more convincing soundtrack when sound pans across the room.

Also many believe the centre is the most important speaker as it does about 70% of the work in most movies.

Not sure of your budget but consider swapping the centre for a Mission M7c2 £150 and your rears for M7ds £180.

An alternative would be to move the M73 to the rear and get new fronts M74 £300 and the M7c2 centre.

    Thank you Gus
My sofa is close against the wall, so moving the front M73 would not be possible, are the rear you recommend any good?? They should match at least to the front M73

I still have their older version, the M77DS which were about £200 and did a fine job for me until they were replaced by my MA Sfx's costing twice as much. The Mission surrounds are well regarded.

They are the same family as your fronts and so are designed by Mission to be used with them.

Have a look at www.mission.co.uk for full info on the M70 range.
