I'm looking to buy a DV Camcorder and would not want to spend more than £500 tops as we will not use it much I suspect. It would be handy to be able to edit with PC (I have a Firewire Card) and I'd rather avoid fiddly control, on screen (LCD) menus and bottom loading mechanisms. Any suggestions?

Empire Direct have quite a few clearance bargains but on looking at the reviews of the machines in What Camcorder most of them seem to have a few 'issues'.

Have you looked at the TRV33 by Sony?
