I'm about to purchase the following after spending about 4 weeks with square eye's reading these threads!

Usage will be to watch DVD's, Sky+ and play XBox, PS2 etc. Would also like to play music with seperate floor standing speakers (can these be connected to 2 spare channels of 3805? Which ones would anyone recommend?)

    Pioneer 435MXE-1
    Denon 3805
    Keff 2005.2 speakers
    Sky +

I already have a Toshiba DVD player with component out (SD-220E).

Will this all work together, I was going to get the XDE but then changed to MXE. Would I need a scaler or is it something I can buy at a later stage and use the 3805 instead to connect to screen and correct lip sync etc? Which scaler would you recommend?

Sorry about the long post, am happy with my choices, just need re-assurance that I haven't missed anything!

    Many Thanks

    do you really mean a 435 MXE1???? or 43MXE or 435XDE/FDE????????
if its a 43 MXE then a scaler is the ideal add on lumagenDVi??? if its a435FDE/XDE then its a bit different the 435 have dissapointed some members......Speaker could be better as well esp for the AMP!!!!!!

Sorry, it's the 43 MXE! Would it work without a scaler using the 3805 as a temporary measure?

50Hz HDCP at 720p i think the MXeE is not Sky HD compatible on its own which the 435XDE/FDE are via the HDMI input...........IIRC

Thanks hornydragon, when you say it's not Sky HD compatible on it's own, is there something I can add to it to make it compatible ie Scaler?

The 43 MXE1 is almost perfect, almost that is... I'm going through the same evaluating process and have decided to go for an XDE instead. The MXE1 does not support HDCP over its DVI connection, which means you won't be able to watch SkyHD nor any HD DVD content. HDCP will become a standard and therefore it's pretty crucial to have it.
The XDE is not as flexible as the MXE1, i.e. it doesn't accept native resolution from a scaler and therefore the picture won't be as good, but then it looks 10x better and even with a scaler probably better than most.
