advice on new pc/tv sound setup

hi all


im thinking getting some more speakers and a av amp for my pc room setup
but im concerned that i may be overkilling it abit lol

i was thinking about a 5.1 setup that would include 2 Mordaunt Short 902i
that i have already

was thinking of getting Mordaunt Short Genie MS402 pair for rear and a
Genie MS404 centre and a sub in a few months

problem is my pc room isnt very big 8 x 15 foot

i would be having the pc one end of the room and a lcd tv the other
and i would be using the lcd and a second monitor and be fiting a blueray dvd drive to the pc (pc already has hd2600 xt graphics card)
also connected to the tv would be the xbox 360 and a techonomate 9100 satelite box


i would be looking for a amp i could turn off front or rear speakers when not needed cos when using the pc for music im not going to need 5.1 sound


this is what im thinking of doing anyway has anyone any advice at all ?


is this total over kill lol or would it work ?

Sounds good to me. I don't know why you would consider it "overkill". It's quite a big room. If you watch movies, you can't beat proper surround sound. Any AV receiver (amp) should be able to play in stereo (direct or pure direct) modes so only the front l/r speakers are used. Cambridge Audio would be the obvious choice as they're made by the same folks as MS.
