Should I have the colour management system switched on or off? What are the respective pros and cons?

    Thanks all

The most common view on new plasmas in to run in cinema mode with all features off and set contrast and brightness to low.

This will help run your screen in for the first 200 hrs, then you can adjust as you like.

Although the brighter you run your set the more chances you will suffer screen burn and reduce the life of the screen.

    Thanks.

I am currently on cinema mode, with contrast and brightness below 50%. Still not sure what the CMS is doing. I have it set to on - you are suggesting it should be off. Why?

    Thanks again

So the Viera colour management system is just a bit of marketing hype?

You will find some people like to have all the colour features on, I have set up my screen using the THX optimiser found on most Lucas film dvds, it give a set up that should show the movie how the director intended it. I like to try and get skin tones looking like skin.

Colour is down to your own eyes, set the diplay to how you like it. The Panny has one of the best depth of colours on any plasma that has been made.

Really just set the screeen up to how you like it.
