    Hi,

Could I ask for some quick advice on the best way to connect up my AV equipment now that I have a brand new Panasonic plasma in the equation?

I have the component board for the WD6 so connecting my DVD player is not a problem. Only issue is Sky+.

Currently, I go Sky+ to Scart to S-Video to Denon Amp then S-Video to Scart to Panasonic. Quality is not fantastic but then I expected that with Sky+. Tried going straight Scart to Scart from Sky+ to Plasma and didn't notice any difference.

Question is, will the quality get any better if use the JS Technology RGB to Plasma VGA converter? And if so, are we talking a lot better?

    Thanks,

    Gerard

I don't think it will make any noticable difference, what you should look at is a briteview or ISCAN ultra.

    inkinoo,

    - was the Sky+ set to RGB when connecting to the scart board?
    - does your amp have multiple component inputs? (i.e. you could use the RGB to Component converter and run YUV up to the plasma)

Failing that a video processor is the only way of improving the picture

    1) Yes, Sky+ is set to RGB
    2) It's a Denon AVC-11SR so yes it has multiple component inputs

Just looking, the video scalers are £400+. At the moment the picture is more than watchable. Spending £100 on an RGB to Component converter I assume will improve the quality. Spending £400+ on a scaler will also improve the quality.

Essentially I am asking is the improvement with the scaler worth the money?

    Thanks,

    G
