    Hello all,

I am looking for a projector which has as many of the characteristics below as possible:

    • portable
    • must be able to project at 2/3 metres
    • can run away from mains
    • can project in ambient room light
    • can connect it via VGA
    • supports at least 1024 x 768
    • weight not over 2.5kg
    • less than £ 500 (will consider second hand)
I teach the Arabic language at different venues. I would like to purchase a projector which i can use to output powerpoint presentations from my laptop.

I've been looking at the PICO projectors (mainly for their portability) but they do not appear to be very good in ambient light conditions.

    Any starters?

almost any business portable projector should meet your requirements except the "run away from mains" part. i take it you mean battery powered? if you are in a venue you'd be better off buying a 13amp extension and using that..

in terms of recommendations, then have a look at the Sanyo XD2200... it does everything you need, will come with a 3 year warranty and we've sold lots of them, and the preceding models and found them to be very reliable....
