    Hello all,

I'm not really very up to speed on all that you can do with LCD or Plasma, but I have been advised that LCD is the way to go to "futureproof".

As such, I have a budget of about £2500-3000 to spend on a 37" (more if possible) LCD tv. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions, or things to look out for?

At the minute I am leaning towards the Sharp models.

Anyway thanks for all your help

I have just purchased a 37" Philips 9986 LCD for £2800 to replace a 36" Pixel Pluis TV.
Extended warranty is £350 with warranty ex (D & G Warranty) or £405 with RETRA via BE Direct

    Extremely pleased.

    Thanks for that,

I'm just looking at this on a couple of websites and it looks very impressive.
Is it worth the extra couple of hundred quid over the Sharp 37" models?
They were what I had been looking at previously.

    Cheers

    Hi

I'm interested in the 37" Philips but I am unable to see it in action. I've seen the 32" which looked great and the 42" which seemed to show that problem whereby the picture goes dark if you view it at an angle. Does the 37" have this problem?

    thanks

And it was a lovely TV.

The picture and all its associated features really rounded off a brilliant TV.

Saying that I had to send it back as I wanted a screen that allowed me to run a full wide screen PC resolution to it.

Not the end of the world, if thats not your bag, but if I was only looking for a TV then this would be the one for me.

I'd recommed www.be-direct.co.uk they were really good in my opinion.

Just about to buy the 37PF9986 from tvandvideodirect.com when I notice that there is no stand included. This is another £150....plus the £85 delivery to Ireland. :censored:

This is proving to be an expensive purchase....£3065!!

I hope it's worth it!!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Arnott's were selling the 37PF9986 in their sale about 2 weeks ago for €3999 and €299 for stand, so £3065 is not a great deal.

Maybe I should have a look around some local stores and see what they can do for me?
