    Hi,

I am looking for a decent (cheapish) home cinema surround sound system. At present I have a 50" plasma with an xbox 360 and cable tv connected to it but the lack of surround sound is starting to bother me. I watch standard def dvd's and HD movies through my 360 so I need a system that it can plug into. Can anyone give any recommendations?

    Cheers,

    Mark

Try the Pioneer HTPGS1 Xbox 360 Surround Sound System, Play.com have the system for £199 which seems a bargain.

On a side note - I found the 360 play back of normal DVD's to be beyond bad, get a £25 dvd player and u will se an improvment, just seems such a waste on a 50" plasma

It really depends on your budget mate. And what you define as cheap-ish.

You could do no wrong with the Onkyo 605 that everyone on here is loving apparently, that is a GOOD amp, but reasonably cheap, and you can plug all your goodies into it leaving only one wire going to your tv, and everything connected getting the surround sound.

Thanks guys I will have a look at all of those.

Torment74 - I have had no problems watching my DVD's through my 360, it really gives a great picture. I do have a standalone DVD player but I no longer use it as the 360 does such a good job.
