    Hi

I have been tempted to buy a Yammie 2600 due to the built in upscaling and zone 2, but at the price, I am wondering if there is a better / cheaper alternative. HDMI switching is a must, but my main 2 sources will be Media centre and DVD, so I could use FFDSHOW or alternative for the MCE, and just buy an upscaling DVD player. Zone 2 (only needs to be line level) would be nice, but I can live without it. Any advice on what is the best solution and what cheaper alternatives I have for the amp? Speaker wise I am looking at the monitor audio radius series, probably 90s at the rear and r225s for front / centre. TV will be the samsung LE40r74.

    Cheers!

Oh and auto-setup and OSD are also high on my wish list.

The 2600 has been discontinued according to this thread.

I'm not sure the scaling is essential for what you want to do. I would rather have the PC scale than an amp. It might be an option for DVD but as you say you could get a DVD player that scales or even just let your TV do it.
