I cannot get over how cheap this weekend break has cost.

I am going on my stag do in March and for 18 people to go via Eurostar direct to Brussels plus two nights in the Marriott (five star) plus access to their luxury spa has only cost £124.63 each and that does not include 7% Quidco.

I think I will be going on more European breaks at these prices.

Does anyone have any recommendations on where to go in Brussels apart from lager and ladies.

We want something we can do together as a group during the Saturday afternoon.

Brussels is one of the most boring places i have ever been!!

There is nothing there, except nice food and drink.

If you can, get over to Brugges for a day of sightseeing and a load of beer :) Been there in the summer it was pleasant to sit outside drinking and eating. It is quite picturesque. As you going to Belgium via Eurostar, you might get the ticket to Bruges for free.

One thing to do in Brussels is the Comic museum.

Never been to Brussels but used to work in Holland and have been to Belguim a couple of times before and its not boring, the Dutch people I used to work with were telling me that the British go to Amsterdam for stag weekends and the dutch go to Belgium for the cheap drink and weed is also legal if your over 18 but you are only allowed to carry a certain amount on you (don't bring it with you buy it there:rotfl:).

Bruges - went there with a gang of mates and we went a for a boat boat ride on the river - good fun and interesting. Watch out for the bikes - very bike-friendly city and teeming with bikes.

Been to Brussels wuth the lads as well, yes really just food and booze, we just did a day trip but would have liked to have had a look at it after dark.

I spent 7 days there.....i wanted to leave after 2!!

This was 7 years ago though, so it may have some new attractions, but i can't remember anything of interest, except the food and drink which were great, and cheap.

There's Waterloo about 20 miles south of Brussels where you can go up the Butte on the old battlefield ;)
There's not an awful lot to see at the battlefield site to be honest though. I only went into Brussels in the evenings for the bars and restaurants when we were there for Euro 2000, so can't really comment about daytime activities there.

I have to do a week every 2 months out there. Mjn is right. It's very dull apart from good beer and food.

Be sure to sink a few Kwak 8's when your there.

A must is in the old town. Down the lanes of Ilôt Sacré, you'll find 'Delirium' (it's somewhere on Impasse de la Fidélité). Anyway, it holds the world record for most beers stocked. on average it has 2000 beers to chose from!!

I think the only sensible option is to jump straight on a train and go to France or Holland.

It's by no means that bad. Never been there a whole weekend but done several day trips with a bunch of lads - so we liked it enough to go back; you say you want to find something more than lager and ladies, the ladies thing is always a bit of a fantasy, that ain't gonna happen anyway, the reality is that with a bunch of mates, you really don't need much more than lager to keep them happy.

There are loads of nice places to wander into and have a beer or a coffee, and lots of nice places to eat, you will get approached a lot by restauranteurs as you stroll around, as for keeping the fellas entertained generally, you're going for a weekend and time will go quite quickly.

You want to find something to do on the Saturday afternoon but with 18 of you it's going to be hard to find something you all agree you want to do, great if you can find something but I wouldn't try too hard with that. You've done a lot of work organising it - relax and enjoy and remember they are capable of entertaining themsleves.

I was there for a course a couple of years ago and have to admit I wasn't impressed with the place. I've been to a lot 'livelier' places (although working in Amsterdam means anywhere else has a lot to live up to!). What made you choose Brussels over the more traditional stag do places like Amsterdam / Dublin / Prague to name a few?

Went there for work and spent a weekend...great place for steak and beer and err... beer and errr steak...oh yes, and late night drinking.

Not much else I've seen to do I'm afraid :)

I think all the pubs in Dublin (temple bar especially) ban stag parties? I've heard good stories about Prague...but if you've booked it already I'd recommend taking your joke book to keep the fellas busy in the pub :)

    You'll love it... trust me

make sure you and the boys actually try the belgian beer and stick off the commercial stuff (Stella, Heini etc...) its ***** compared to proper belgian

Brugges is a must as well. Also Head to the coast, they do a lovely tram up and down the whole coast, hop on / hop off style.... lovely beaches / seaside towns on the way..

Much nicer place than France IMO
