    Hi

I've replaced my Sony SS-MS7 satellite speakers with 5 Kef Eggs. Currently I'm still using the Sony WMS7 sub that came with the Sony SA-VE705 package.

Could anyone suggest a decent sub replacement to complement the Eggs?

It would have to of reasonable cost as my budget would be limited.

    Any advice would be welcome.

    Thanks

    Mmm interesting.

Could do with a bit more info on this sub. Can't seem to find anything on the net - must be quite old.

I'm after something that would be suitable for hi-fi music and delivering the goods for DD5.1 and DTS movies - would this do the job?.

Most definately it would but I'm sure that it won't sell anywhere near it's current price of £52. More like four times that figure and probably still worth it.

I think the RRP for the Strata Mk I was £600. I would pay about £200, £250 max for that sub.

And probably better than the bundled sub you get with Kef Eggs.

Is it downward firing - can't really tell from the picture. My front room is carpetted - would that effect the sound?

Thanks for the heads up on that sub I will keep a watch on it.

Any other suggestions for a suitable sub around the £200 - £300 mark?

    Cheers

The Strata is downfiring. No, it won't matter. Bass (below 80hz) is non-directional.

Also checkout Rel Q100E, they go for about £200.

Check out the "Bargain Corner" of this site: http://www.bkelec.com/

Absolutely nothing to touch that 200W XLS10 sub at £279, IMO.
