    Hi everyone!

Haven't bought a TV in about 6 years and I am quite lost with all the new models.

    My main needs:

    - I will seat about 2 to 2.5 meters away from the TV
    - Sound quality isn't important, I have a home cinema set up
    - I will watch all my content in HD and UHD (4K) mostly on netflix, and other streaming like amazon video, via an Apple TV 4K. I do not watch normal TV, only streaming like Netflix.
    - I have a PS4 pro so I want good HDR and gaming specs
    - I want a TV with good colours, viewing angles are somewhat importants as I have a large sofa and sometimes watch the TV from a distant table.
    - Is there any point in looking at curved monitors? Do they really bring something new?

My budget is maximum 1200€ (I live in Spain at the moment) but would like to pay less if possible.

In terms of LED it seems the best for this price would be the
    - ULED 55 Hisense H55U7A at 888€
    - the Sony KD55XF8596 at 1030€
    -or LED 55 Samsung UE55NU8005 at 1145€

As for QLED/OLED it looks like I am a bit below budget, however I have found the:
    - QLED 55 Samsung QE55Q6F for 1150€.

In curved model I have found the:
    - LED 55 Samsung UE55MU9005 at 1039€

It seems like the Sony has the best viewing angle and good gaming capabilities, better than the Hisense. I wouldn't know if it's worth going for QLED based on what I need, or if there are other better TVs out there.

    What would you recommend?

    Many thanks!

How much are the OLEDs selling for in Spain?

LG B7, C7 usually best priced. Sometimes Panasonic EZ952.

None of the models you listed are anything more than average with HDR.

QLED is just an LCD TV with a special backlight, its not a different panel tech like OLED..

Also, you view very far for UHD content even on a 65"-75" TV, let alone 55".

For your needs consider the new TCL 55DP660 too.

    Serie P66

It seems to be very good. :)

The LG B7 can be found at 1400€ in Spain - seems much cheaper than its release price. I'm thinking if it would be worth investing that price considering I would be keeping that TV for years and that I want something future proof?

As for viewing distance, I have reviewed the distance once again and it is more like 1.5m / 2m distance.

The TCL P66 seems very good indeed, with very low input lag for gaming (17.5ms) - Available at 536€ which is a huge price difference. I wonder if it's worth putting so much more for an OLED TV?

OLED blows it out of the water. Far superior tv.

Sony XE9005 or XF9005 may be options too, is the XE9005 still available and at what price?

XF9005 may be too much compared to the OLEDs but maybe pricing is different in Spain.

The Sony XF9005 is at 1300€ and the LG OLED C7 is available at 1400€. Which one would you recommend? I suppose 100€ is worth it for having the OLED technology?

    Thanks!

Definitely worth it, that is the same as here with the XF9005 then, its still quite expensive. When it gets closer to the £1000 mark the XF9005 will be better value.

    XE9005 sold out?

The XE9005 can be found at 1120€ on one particular website but I don't know it that much...: Sony KD55XE9005 55" LED UltraHD 4K - Compra Online en Costomovil

Otherwise its normal price would be 1400€

Thanks everyone for your input! It seems the LG B7 / C7 should be the way to go, if I can find it for 1400€ from a reputable website/vendor. Anyone has experience gaming with it?

I would go for the XE9005 or the LG B7 or C7 or wait for the price of the XF9005 to come down.

Thanks for the input both @zeppelino and @Dodgexander . I will try to see this model in store to make myself an opinion, but if it's still available in 2 weeks when I need it I'll go for it - the B7/C7 from LG is now at 1600€ in Spain so too costly.

Alright, I settled for the Philips 55POS9002 OLED TV and bought it. Should be receiving it in 2 weeks. At 1199€ it was hard to justify another 300€ for the B7 that seems pretty much the same TV (perhaps some slightly better specs). Couldn't see the philips in Store so I hope I won't be disappointed!

I doubt you will, the Philips is arguably a better TV due to its motion processing, a no brainier at that size and I'm glad you found such a good price.

Let us know what you think of the TV once you get it, it may help other buyers!

    Will do!

I just noticed that the Philips doesn't have HDR10+ nor Dolby Vision, and I doubt they plan to integrate it. Is that a real game changer for TVs or justa gimmick? Considering I'll be mainly playing on the PS4 Pro, and watching Netflix/Amazon, I'm not sure content I watch will be using that technology so much.

I'd definitely get a set that at least has one or both.

Its not a deal breaker to me, you can still use the HDR10 layer of HDR10+ and at the price you got for the TV you won't get better value for money elsewhere. There is much more to a TV than format support, plus the HDR consoles are HDR10 only anyway.

Hi, it seems that my Philips order will be delayed quite a bit so looking at alternatives.

The Panasonic EZ952 is available at around 1350€ in Spain so not a great price difference. As per the review on avforums it appears to have great image quality - perhaps better than the Philips?

They are all using the same panel so there's little difference between all. The accuracy of the Panasonic out of the box is very good. Its just as good.

I think it all depends if Dolby Vision becomes more mainstream then the content will be mastered with this as well, maybe not on the One X but it could happen on the next gen which are due to land 2019-2021.

As I've said already in the past, I have the option of selecting 12 bit colour as well within the menus, just need a 12 bit tv lol ;)

Personally wouldn't buy Phillips due to several factors, very bad aftersales service and overall build quality.

If you can get the Panny then go for that otherwise an LG OLED.
