    Hi all,

I'm really new to all this and i'm only used to a standard crt tv anyway i'm buying a house and we move in at the start of june and her in doors :) has said i can spend £1,500 on a plasma screen so i need some of the ins and outs plus best screen to get.
i have bought a jvc TH - V70R as my home cinema system which i'll be using with the said new screen.

    cheers in advance

Is she strict on the £1500, or could an extra £100 be sneaked in to the budget? You can certainly do something for £1500 that will not have you hang your head in shame, the extra will give you some choice, and some connections. Do you have digital TV? do you mind running the surround for ordinary TV? or do you want one with a TV tuner and speakers built in. They look more minimalist, the designer plasma look without speakers, 'er indoors might prefer that.

    I'd prescribe the TV option - a Panasonic TH-42PE50.

On sale for under £1650 right now, and by June the price should be even more attractive. I can't think of any good reason for you to choose something else, to be honest!

Apart from the bulk of the thing, and the lack of suitabilty for wall mounting that is.

I would give the TH42PE30 a look. I purchase mine for a touch over
£3,000.oo including dvd recorder, Cabinet stand and Warrenty some
Six months ago. Look at the price now, at least a grand cheeper.

Ive enjoyed my six months though. :)

now i do see your points but we have been saving for months and months and we have approx 8 Grand but that is to buy every thing for the house. The good lady only allocated approx 600 for a 32" tv before i convinced her to get a plasma so i think i have done o'k up to know lol.

So as i would love to spend a tad more i actually have to fill a house :)

So as i know it is probs not the greatest setup but do you think its an improvement on a 32" setup well i hope so
