Hi I've been reading through the site for a while now and need some advice please.

I'm going to buy a 42ish inch flat screen and have looked at a few today and am now completely confused!!!

    Sony kdl40V2000
    Pioneer pdp436sxe
    Panasonic th42px600

Price isn't really an issue as i've found them all within a few hundred of each other. will mainly be using it for Sky SD and DVDs at the moment until there are more HD channels available. Which screen should I go for?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated :lease:

Im looking at buying a Px600 too. Only problem is i saw the pioneer in JL. It looked so nice i didn't know whether to watch it or hump it.

Its such a sexy tv. I.m just worried about the screen burn.

I'll think i'll end up with the Panny. But i'll always fancy that Pio x

I went looking the other day in Comet and thought the 436xde looked best (but i couldn't remember why i should be avoiding it), then as the picture changed i noticed a Comet logo burned in to the top left hand corner:eek: I realise that shops that loop demos are hardly real world usage..but the same clip was playing across all the screens and only the Pio had it..shame really.

shaun the pioneer will have been left on dynamic from brand new and will have been running 11 hours a day for maybe the best part of a year. I have sold loads of pioneers and have had no probs with burn, i have seen retention but i have seen that on the panasonic range of plasmas too. dont let that be an issue, it has been sorted.

As for the original question the sony is a great set but at this size unless you are planning on using it as with a console 8 hours a day then the other 2 are better sets. I'm biased but either one of the other 2 are cracking TVs!

I'm sure your right mhsslinky and i wouldn't want to put anyone off..it's just an observation. I used to own a 435xde which was great during the day but way too bright when watching a movie in a darkened room...the 436 was way improved.
