I have just purchased an Hdmi capable projector. I want to be able to select my DVD player and Foxsat box to either the projector or LCD TV.My present Sony amp does not have any Hdmi capability. What is the best way to achieve this either a new amp or a switching box. Hdmi lead will be about 10metres to projector.

Cheap way - HDMI switch + HDMI splitter or HDMI matrix (slightly more expensive)

Obviously a new AV receiver wouldn't go amiss to get the latest features and audio formats (for when you get bluray) but twin HDMI outputs are usually found on more expensive kit. What is your budget? Alternatively you can just fit a splitter on the HDMI output of any HDMI AV receiver, with one going to the TV and the other going to the projector.

Are the TV and projector capable of 3D? If so, you will need HDMI v1.4 compatible kit to pass 3D.

What speakers do you have? think the yamaha rxv771 was the cheapest with two hdmi outs.

As said you could use another receiver and a hdmi splitter.
