I am currently setting up a Home Cinema system and need som advice on audio connectivty

    I currently have

    LG PX11 42" Plasma
    SKY+
    XBOX
Bose Lifestyle 25 5.1 surround sound system

Looking to add DVD recorder ( probably Panasonic E85H)

The SKY only has an optical out (digital
XBOX has both Co-ax & Optical
    Anticipated DVD recorder - Optical

Currently the SKY is connected via the Video input on the Bose (best Guess surround sound emulation) :(
The XBOX is connected via Co-ax - AWSOMMMEEE

The problem I have is that I want to connect all three devices digitaly to get the best from the Bose system which is pretty good.

The only option I can think of is to buy a 3 to 1 Optical switch and then connect that to a Co-ax to optical converter. This seems somewhat messy and a bit of a fudge :thumbsdow . Does anybody know of a neater solution and have recomendations on equipment to achieve this?

Just asking because I thought I'd seen something that allowed for multiple co-ax/optical ins and digital outs. Cant remember what, where or how much. Anybody ?

Either its the only way, no body knows or no body care's :D

OK The messy way it is

Does the quality of the optical cables make any difference? TVCables are doing 1m cables for £3.75. Given that I will need 4 of them, I dont want to spend £30 each on them. I would also purchase the TOSLink Switche for £7.99 frome them. Maplins do an Optical to Coaxial Digital Audio Convertor for £14.99. Would this be a good purchase ?
