Question Advice for intercom / cctv selection

hi all. Looking for a bit of advice please from anyone who has experience with intercoms and cctv.

We need to replace a gate intercom, as well as the exterior lighting and cctv to the property. The house currently has a bell systems bellisimo system installed, with 4 video phones inside the house at different locations. The intercom at the gate is a single push button camera intercom which is operated from the house via RF.

We are going to replace all the existing outside lighting, so will use it as an opportunity to add new screened data cable from the central "comms cupboard" in the house to the gates. Main point is that we are not wedded to using existing cables, etc.

I've been thinking of installing an IP intercom system, so that we can receive video calls on our smart phones in case we aren't at home. I would like to replace the current CCTV system at the same time, ideally in a way that integrates with the intercom, if that makes sense.

Questions:

Is an IP intercom necessary if I want to receive remote video calls when not at home (including gate release when not at home) ?

Is IP intercom technology now reliable ? Or still glitchy ?

Is it worth integrating the intercom with CCTV ?

Which brand of intercom is recommended (both for purchase and after sales support) ? Am thinking of the Comelit VIP system, which seems to have good reviews. I know that BPT, Videx and Aiphone have similar systems available.

Are there any specific provisions I should make (extra cables, etc) given that we are installing everything from scratch?

Any feedback would be much appreciated.
