I'm flying to Leeds in a week to collect a car which I will be driving home via the overnight ferry from Liverpool. I'll probably collect the car around 2pm on Friday 19th and my ferry doesn't leave Liverpool until 10:30pm although I will probably check as early as I can as I want to get an electric car charging spot and there are only 2 onboard. Allowing 3 hours for the Leeds-Liverpool trip (google maps says around 2hrs 20 but I don't know the area and will also have a 15 minute charge stop), I have about 3-4 hours to kill. Are there any sights to see along the way that would be worth checking? And when I hit the Liverpool area, could anyone recommend a good area to get a bite of food before heading to the ferry? I'm bringing my 81 year old father along for the road trip. He's like a kid going to Disneyland!
