Hi all - advice for a complete newbie here!

I shoot my own films and a lot of my own films - featuring dark / night shots. Rather than continue to rent my old Panny 32" CRT (cracking TV), and having just bough a Sony HD video camera, want to buy a flat screen (preferbaly from JL).

Due to the night shots, the way to go seems to be Plasma rather than LCD for the better blacks. I'd be sitting about 7.5ft from the screen and primarily using SD SKY and DVD (via upscaler).

Want to pay no more than £700 ... narrows it down to:
Philips 42PFP5532D/05 - good price - seems to get good reviews on here - but would it be too big for my viewing distance?

Panasonic Viera TH37PX70 - good reviews - but seems expensive for the size and hard to find in stock.

Panasonic Viera TH42PX7B - again too big? Only one HDMI input - as I want to go down the PS3 Blu-Ray avenue in the future bit worried about this.

    Any views please?

    Thanks in advance!

Personally I would be happy with a 42 at 7.5 feet even if it is a tad close. I view my 50 at about 8-9 feet :D
