Things have moved on since the classic Lucasarts point & click adventures. I was a big fan of the Monkey Island games back in the day. Nothing really exists in that vein these days although as a fan of adventure games I can recommend: Fallout 3, Fable 2, Dead Space.

I know it's not on the 360 but there was one released last year for PC

    A Vampyre Story

It was by the team who did Curse of Monkey Island.

Now if only they would do a 360 port..

Is there room for Point N Click in modern day gaming though ? IMHO Fallout 3 is the perfect evolution of PnC games.

not necessarily point and click but an adventure type rpg with an interesting storyline and no fps elements, soo those of us with no hand eye coordination have a chance:)

I mentioned it on post 1 but under a killing moon was great

Im not convinced any game designers would be brave enough to leave out the FPS or 3rdPS element out of any new game. Did you play CSI on the XBOX yet ? Its about the closest I have come to old style point and click in recent years.

Broken Sword on the original Xbox? Maybe compatible, worth checking out...

There certainly is in my world, I have fond memories of the old point and click adventures.

But, in the current market, you're probably right - there's no place for them from a business perspective.

    Shame though.

When was the last time you played one ? Only reason I ask is that I recently got hold of a SCUMM emulator so I could play Monkey Island 2 again. I was so suprised how simplistic it actually was (in comparison to my recent gaming experiences but thats a no brainer really) What made that game great was its brilliant humour coupled with engaging gameplay. After about 30mins play I decided it was best left as a fond memory.

I agree. They don't work too well without a mouse though, in my opinion atleast. I fondly remember broken sword 1 & 2 on the PC which were my first point n click games.

The DS is pretty good for this genre. Not as good as the PC but better than the other modern consoles, and the touch screen works quite well.

I replayed Indi:Fate of Atlantis last year and I made a start on The Longest Journey (but admittedly never finished it).
I concede, against modern games, the point and click classics can look a little stayed and basic.

But I wub 'dem sooooo much. :D

Picked up fable 2 recommended on this thread and it is prob the best game I have ever played, it really clicked with me and I was sad to finish the story

    Is there anything that compares?

The DLC is quite a nice way to extend Fables story if you fancy it :smashin:
