ADSL wireless modem router as cable broadband router?

I have a Netgear DG834PN wireless modem router which i'm using for Bulldogbroadband via a phone-line. I'm thinking of changing to Virgin (cable) broadband as that way i'll get unlimited downloads (I'm worried that my daughter connecting her new Wii is going to take me well over my current 1GB download limit). If i change do i have to buy a new wireless router or can I use my exsiting one for cable?

afraid you need a new one - the equivalent is a WPN824

you could just connect the ethernet port on the Virgin cable modem to a switch port on the DG834PN and bridge the connection, however it would only support 1 PC, and youd have no firewall protection etc ..so pretty pointless to be honest
