Struggled to find time, light and inspiration this month then I saw my daughter had been playing with her Lego and had left this lovely couple admiring the view from their balcony.
I hope you like it - rotated to straighten the verticals and cropped but otherwise direct from the camera

Pictures of lego are always great ;) I like this, although for me I'd have preferred both figures in focus, but I understand that this isn't what you going for :smashin:

+1 - definitely would have preferred both in focus - cool idea :)

I like this one, it's a nice idea. My only minor nag would be the composition isn't quite there and possibly too shallow a DoF. It'd have been nice to have both figures in focus.

The DOF was a bit shallower than I intended but it wasn't obvious until I loaded it onto the PC by which time my daughter had moved them about and I didn't want to recompose it which would have felt like "cheating". I'd have been tempted to give them both drinks too ;)
The more I look at it the more I like that only the female character is sharp though - it makes you wonder what she might be thinking about :)
I like the fact that is captures a little moment in my kid growing up, I'm sure there was a very elaborate story going on that got them both to the balcony.

Lego people often come up on Flickr Explore, so I was waiting for someone to enter a shot like this. It's a bit too close / macro-like for my liking and I agree with others about the DoF.
