    Hi,

Ive just bought a WD caviar black 2 tb, im looking to find the best way to connect it to my machine to get the best speeds from it, its just with my current setup im not to sure which way is the best setup etc without sacrificing too much speed. my motherboard only has the 2 sata 3 ports and they are currently being used (my mobo P8Z77-V). Should i invest in one of these PCI-E sata 3 cards? are they any use?

My current setup is like this:-

1 x 128 gb ssd M4 crucial - this has my OS installed and programs via sata 3 port.
    1 x 256 gb ssd M4 crucial - games via sata 3 port.
    1x 1tb samsung F3 sata 2 - music and storage via sata 2 port.
this setup only leaves the one sata 2 port free.

Do i have many other options other than chopping and changing the ssd's around or installing one of these pci-e sata cards?

    I appreciate the help.

    thanks

A normal hard drive isn't fast enough to utilise sata 3 speeds anyway, just plug it into a sata 2 port and you'll be fine
