:) I have just taken delivery of a Humax 8000T and a Tosh 32ZP. The quality is wonderful (content hasn't improved though) but the family already have a complaint.

:( Because this is a single tuner we can't record a channel other than the one we are watching. If I buy another cheap tuner can I just plug it into the spare csart socket (there are 3)?

I also have a spare stand which I propose to sell on EBay.

Yes, but you may have to switch scarts manually. I'm not really familiar with the Humx but on most STBs with 2 scarts you could plug the second STB into the VCR scart of the first (HUMAX) and then when you switch it on it'll automatically overide the first one (ie if you're recording).

So any signal going in to the VCR Scart of the Humax gets passed straight through to the TV?

I could test this by checking if I can watch a Video while recording on the Humax.
