This is an excellant film which has it all really - even a car chase:D Nic Cage plays both roles as the twins with comfort and you get a sense of seperation. Although any fans of Face Off will have Caster Troy ingrained in their psyche for recall when one calls the other bro. The main character, being, the socially inept brother should gel with the singels/teens out there who fair rather better in fantasy than reality - if you get my drift:blush:  - and is amusing with an intelligent and quick-witted mind. In fact this film has several belly laughs lying in wait to catch the viewer out. Chris Cooper who plays the character within the story that is being told is brilliant as the quirkie fad-happy entrepeneur come self-published academic; who drifts from one field to another in an eclectic style ranging from fish to botany to drugs and pornography. Meryl Streep is as ever stella in her portrayal of the emotionally unfulfilled and lonely magazine article writer who chooses to write about Coopers' character only to find herself drawn to him for all the wrong reasons.
The story is told engagingly in a character driven style of desire for emotional as well as career success. Jonze style of shooting is sharp and there is much colour and depth of image to fill your eye candy quota. And more importantly the story is told well and doesn't get lost at the cost of one thing over another.
    Time and money well spent.

Can't wait to see this film... was going to make a trip to the cinema, until I saw this:

"Just announced from Columbia TriStar is a Superbit edition of one of the best films of 2002, Adaptation. Arriving on May 20th, the disc will feature a 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer along with Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS soundtracks."

    Sweet.
