COD is awesome fun, well it's fun.

I also want to shoot some very realistic looking faces.

Means we could create some really lifelike charaters in games that have charater create features like saints row etc. Could be matched well with camera facemapping like in RSV too, and like above you could see the state of the spotty dweeb uv just shot.

And didn't nVidia demo the exact same face tech?

read the link ;)
Wait isn’t that the same Not Old Man from the Nvidia demo? Activision explain on the video’s YouTube page: “Yes, this is the same source data from ICT used by Nvidia at GTC, but rendered using a completely different tech.”

According to a post by Activision R&D’s Jorge Jimenez, this is the result of “many years of work in photorealistic characters.” Supposedly, the tech was demoed live at GDC on a two-year old laptop.

Ah, didn't see the link under the vid tbh, cheers.

In all honesty though, this is showing nothing, its basically a rendering engine, I would imagine that half of the legwork are things like the textures themselves and mapping those properly. Activision really shouldn't have used assets from nVidia's demonstration imho.

If it's Activision then in their actual games all the faces will continue to look like the faces of burnt Argentinian war heroes.
