Looking to buy some new speakers for my front End now I have a decent subwoofer and was looking at active speakers which seam to be very cheap compared to passive speakers. I can see a benefit of the active speakers having a built in amplifier so wouldn't be using my Marantz 7010's internal amps.

I have a few speakers on my short list and was wondering if anyone here has any of them setup as above I know Centuryman had the Adam TV8's and rates them astounding.

Adam TV8 ADAM Audio - T8V Active Studio Monitor (Nearfield)
Max. SPL Per Pair at 1 m: ≥118 dB
Frequency Response: 33 Hz - 25 kHz

PreSonus E8 XT Eris E8 XT | PreSonus
Max. SPL Per Pair at 1 m: ≥105 dB
Frequency Response: 35 Hz - 20 kHz

PreSonus R80 R80 | PreSonus
Max. SPL Per Pair at 1 m: ≥107 dB
Frequency Response: 40 Hz - 22 kHz

My main listening would be 70% Music 30 films and I would also listen to any other recommendations.

Hey N0ch! Yes @Liammonty123 has three of those PreSonuses which he said are great with music!

Thanks for the links and will have a read through those at the weekend.

The KALI IN-8 v2 is eagerly anticipated on audiosciencereview - I'm waiting to see what the reviews are like before upgrading my Focal CMS65s

I have now sourced some Passive XTZ 99 series speakers so no longer looking for active but will keep the thread open for others to view.
