    Hi,

Check out any of the following:

"Runaway Train" with Jon Voight, and Eric Roberts.

"Nikita" with Anne Parillaud (in French, with English subtitles, and directed by Luc Besson)

"Gunsmith Cats" (Japanese Anime - one of the best of its kind. Young, female bounty-hunters take on some of Chicago's worst crime kingpins, and use a lot of dodgy DIY explosives, in the process!!)

"Crime Story" (Michael Mann's superb Pilot-Episode of a sorely underrated 1986-88 US TV series. Directed by Abel Ferrara, and with many of Mann's usual cast members, including Dennis Farina, and a very young David Caruso.)

"Ghost Dog: Way Of The Samurai" (Slightly surreal, and leisurely-paced action/drama from cult indie director Jim Jarmusch. Excellent score, and intriguing character acting from Forest Whittaker.)

"Dominion Tank Police" (Around 2 and a half hours, of the craziest, nuttiest, most hell-bent cops in Japan, who use tanks as a form of anti-terrorism! Very silly, very reverse-sexist, and very, very funny!)

Hope some of these may be of interest to you.

If we are talking action then we would have to inculde the following:

Gone in 60 Seconds (1974) The best screen car chase?

Point Break - The new DTS remix is very good.

Assualt on Precinct 13 - I just love this great movie!!

Some of my favs (all R1) though most of them are well known:

The Big Hit (Mark Wahlberg, Christina Applegate)
Blown Away (Jeff and Lloyd Bridges)
Bad Boys (Will Smith, Marin Lawrence)
Broken Arrow (John Travolta, Christian Slater)
Set it Off (1996 - Jada Pinkett, Queen Latifah)
Desperate Measures (Michael Keaton, Andie Garcia)
    Switchback (Dennis Quaid, Danny Glover)
Executive Decision (Kurt Russel, Steven Segal)
and highly recommended (check out the LFE):

The Long Kiss Goodnight (Geena Davis, Samuel L. Jackson)

The best car chase is IMHO to see in Ronin.

The Raid and The Raid 2 are two of the most adrenaline-fuelled action films ever, and certainly of the last ten years.

The Raid 2 is a bit more measured in its pacing, which it needs to be given the run time, but if you haven't seen them, get on it! That kitchen fight scene is the best one-on-one fight since Bruce Lee was around. So well choreographed. Amazing.
