I have just bought an Acoustic sounds 5.1 system which i have plugged in to the Co axial digital out on my Philips Dvd r890. When i play a dvd disk with 5.1 sound it plays fine on the system and swithes to a Dolby digital input signal. However i have my Sky tv linked via scart through my Dvd r890 and when i watch a movie which has Dolby Digital 5.1 it only comes through the Seaker system as Pro logic and not Dolby digital. Am i going wrong somewhere or is there no way of linking the Sky through the the Dvd r 890 to get Dolby Digital?

    Thanks

    Wolfy!

    Wolfy,

the only way you can get a DD 5.1 signal from Sky is through a Sky+ box and the DD signal (if present) is transferred via an optical digital connection.

Any other sky box or method of connection will give a down mixed stereo link which your system is correctly decoding as Pro Logic.
