anyone comment on acoustic solutions speakers?

thinking about buying some acoustic solutions powerforce 2000 floorstanding speakers off a friend.
i like high top end treble in a speaker when playing my cds, also they will be the 2 fronts in my 5.1 setup.
just wondering if these speakers are good or poor?

    thanks

I don't know the model you mention but have tried 'acoustic solutions' speakers before and was happy with them.
Build quality was ok and sound quality was good, in fact my mate is still using my old speakers.

I think you've answered your own question anyway, you obviously like your mates speakers or you wouldn't want to buy them.

    Cheers, Mylo :)

i only thought of buying them as he was selling cheap.

been looking around and noticed 'acoustic solutions' speakers are very very cheap,
which makes me beleve these speakers are not much good,

"buy cheap get cheap" as the saying goes.

anyone else comment on 'acoustic solutions' speakers ?

AS kit is fine for the money. Hell, you can get a half-decent 5.1 kit + inc. amp, stands & sub for less than a pair of audiophile interconnects! Bargain basement stuff, but you'll grow out of it quickly!!

do u think i should really spend around 300 for a decent set of speakers?

would i notice much difrrence in sound quality?
i already have some acoustic solutions floorstanding speakers, not as nice as my mates pair but..
these are my real first set of floorstanding speakers so im not a expert on speakers, im just not happy enough with the treble quality while listerning to my cds or mp3s,

i have a panasonic e50 dvd recorder which i use to play my cds, and a sony str db 940 amp if that helps,

I'm sure you'd notice a massive difference. I certainly did when I went from dodgy speakers that came from a midi system to £150 Tannoy Fusion 2s. Be warned though- then you'll start wanting to upgrade everything!

IMO the speakers should be the last thing you upgrade - start at the source - buy a decent dac for your dvd player and then a dedicated stereo amp (or pre/power combo) then upgrade the speakers. expensive cables, mains supplies & stands can wait a bit.

That said though, a pair of tannoys like Andy's would be perfect and will last many system upgrades.
