Anyone got one of these, or who knows about it, would care to provide a little bit more information about it?

There's nothing on Acoustic Solutions' website.

    Is it MP3 based?
Can you copy MP3s to it? Or can it only rip audio from CD?

The only brief info I can find is argos

I read a brief description of this recently as it was mentioned on the cover of either "Stuff" magazine or "T3", I can't remember which. It wasn't a full review, and I don't think it gave any more info than the Argos site.

I am in the market for an audio jukebox, but the Cambridge Audio 640h looks to be a better (although more expensive) option as it can wirelessly connect to a PC to transfer content, and also download album art from the net if you want to display it on your TV.

I believe the 640h is out in the spring but will be more like £500 than £200.

After contacting Acoustic Solutions with the following:

Just wondering when the SP150 jukebox hifi separate is out and when
details will be released. It is on the Argos website and I was wondering
what the specifications are, what is the capacity of the hard drive? Can
you record from radio in particular te DAB tuner, so that I can set
timer and record programmes I miss. That would be one great feature,
also could these files if possible by transfered to a computer and/or be
burned onto CDR if the jukebox features a burner, any information or
    brochure would be much appreciated.
    Thank You.

    I received a reply by e-mail today:

"Thank you for your enquiry, the SP150 CD/Hard Drive Audio Jukebox has
been delayed and is now due early in March - apologies for the delay.
The current specification is as follows:

    Features:
    Stores up to 10,000 songs.
40 GB audio hard drive jukebox system
Plays as normal CD player or from hard drive
    52x CD ROM drive
    Fast file transfer
    Automatic file compression
Music "segue" feature for seamless, non-stop music
    Playlist formation feature
    Introduction play feature
    Random play feature
Line level connection to amplifier (SP101 or similar)
"CDDB" music database included on the hard disk - free update by CD-ROM
    for the first 12 months.

There are no external audio inputs or PC connections to this model, the
only source of audio for recording is the internal CD drive. Future
models will feature external inputs, PC connection, CD burners, etc.
These models should be available later this year. We do not have
brochures available, as all our sales are done through the main
retailers such as Argos - once the unit is available in the shops, you
will be able to find details and download a copy of the instruction
manual from your website - www.acousticsolutions.net,

Argos will be one of the first retailers for SP150, if you contact
either Argos or us after a couple of weeks, you can get an update on
    delivery estimates."

So there you go full specs, dealayed release date and possible new machines in the near future with extra features such as external audio inputs. Hope that helps

    Thanks for that. Very useful

One of my main interests was for my son. He has a Creative Zen Touch, and has already ripped all his and most of our CDs to his computer to put them on the Zen. He has about 20+gb worth.

I was interested in whether he could now offload this to a standalone unit like SP150 so that 1) he wouldn't need to run them from his computer when he is in his room, or 2) wear out his Zen prematurely by always playing them back from that.

But it sounds like he would have to re-rip everything.
Best wait for a network ready version. It ought not have to cost a lot more in this day and age.

I agree, it seems a bit of an oversight not to include a network interface in this model as it would then be a lot more appealing to me. I already have most of my music collection on my PC so I will have to Re-rip also.

As you say Loz it wouldn't exactly cost much more.
