    Hi all

I have a very strange problem, I have just got an acoustic solutions amp to use as a studio amp for my setup, the amp works fine when working a cable to iPod or phono lead to CD player or other component.

However when I plug a phono cable from the output of my audiophile 2496 sound card to any of the inputs on the amp, it begins to make a crackling noise from the inside of the amp, if left it will get louder and then trip all the electrics out!!!(only happened once and amp still works fine on everything else)

I have a friend with the same amp and sound card and it works fine, I have also tested the output of the sound card with a pair of active speakers and that is also fine.

I am very confused as I have never seen a phono input cause this kind of problem before, perhaps somebody can shed some light on this for me!

    Many thanks in advance

    Dan
