Accoustic solutions are not only known to be very hackable players (in terms of macrovision) but are normally compatable with all dvd+r discs. I have heard of some problems with dvd-r discs. The thing is, these discs (dvd+r especially) can be bought for about 50p each, so why not just make him a copy and it should work, if not, whats 50p?
    Panasonics work with both formats.
