I was looking at getting a set of home cinema speakers that would work well for music, tv and dvd and was looking at a surround sound package consisting of:

1 pair of AEGIS EVO 3
1 pair of AEGIS EVO 1
    1 AEGIS EVO centre
    1 AEGIS EVO Sub

    for £750, link is here

Does anyone have these speakers and would they recommend them or does anyone have any better suggestions for set ups similar in price?

Remainder of the system is likely to be Yamaha AX-757SE Amplifier / receiver, Denon DVD2910 for cd & dvd playback and input from vinyl / mixer.

I love my EVOs but went for a different sub. SVS PB12-Plus/2. A little upgrade ;-)
Also used DefTech bipolars for the surrounds as they had more WAF the EVO1 are little big hanging on the walls.

I have the Active Sub and been very happy with it. Generally the reviews have been decent.

Anyone knows the common price in America? I'm looking for it. Also, anyone have match this with a Rotel Receiver?

The evo 3b package in £719:95 inc postage here

The evo sub works well with the evo series but there are better subs out there for not much more like the xls200/vita 200/monolith from www.bkelec.com . You could always build your own setup using hte eve3 front and centre for approx £419 in postage from www.superfi.co.uk. Then look for a piar of Eltax HT2 bipolars for the rears second hand for approx £30-40 and then add the sub of your choice.

Get a top quality sub cable from Mark Grant

Pick your own better speaker cables or make your own from cat5 network cable which is about 45p/meter

Hi, a fair number of poeple around here have this speaker package and ive not read one bad word about them. (maybe except an underpowered sub, but the sub works extremely well within the evo package).

needless to say you will only get a thumbs up from me and a very high recomendation :)

hope the decision is not going to be too hard...
