At the moment I have a home cinema set up with 2 pairs of the AE300s (fronts and rears) a AE307 centre and a AE308 Sub.

I may have the chance to change to a set which comprises a pair of Evo 3s (fronts) a pair of Evo 1s (rears) and an Evo centre. I would keep the AE308 to use with this set up.

Would this change be considered an upgrade?

Any opinions would be gratefully received.

Heard the Spirits, bought the Evo, just the fronts and centre though.

    If it were I

I would get the evo 3 for the front
    AE300 for the rears
    AE307 For the centre
    AE308 for the sub.

    Reason being

The Asprit were top of acoustic energy range when they were available The EVO series are there current low end speakers. Once again its all down to taste.

    I currently have

    Ae300 for fronts
    Ae301 for rears
    Ae300c for surrounds
    Ae307 for centre

Just need a SUB so I will be getting a MS309.

Was thinking of getting some EVO3 myself but after thinking about it I have decided to weight and get some AE309 when I can.

    Thanks for your sensible reply!

I missed out on some AE309s when they were available as B-stock, other wise I would have that set up. Howver I don't like mixing my speakers so I am going for the whole Evo set up:

    Evo 3 for fronts
    Evo 1 for rears
    Evo Centre

Oh, but I am keeping my AE308 sub, (for now)

I don;t think you'll have much of a problem mixing speakers from the same manufacturer.

I used to have Aegis 3's at the front (and poxy rear speakers)

Now have the Aegis 3's at the rear and a new set of Aelite 3's at the front :)

Had the Aegis Centre but again, upgraded that to Aelite Centre.
