I bought them off the back of good reviews and have to say they are an excellent package, they look good and sound good, the floorstanders are great for two channel music, I listened to a pair of Wharfedale pacific evo 30's and a pair of B&W 603 SCM's which cost twice the price and left the shop knowing that they sound just as good, after having the set for over a year I am replacing the sub as I have seperated my AV and stereo and need a sub that can handle low and high inputs simultaneously, so I'm gonna use the floorstanders for stereo and I've bought another pair of the Evo 1's to take their place. Small satellite speakers might look pretty and not take up much room but if you want to fill your room with sound for music and movies you can't go wrong with this package, the only problem being that when upgraditus hits you, you'll have to spend a pretty penny to beat them, happy hunting

They are good for their price, but depends on what amp/player you connect them to. I demo'd a set of these speakers a few weeks ago and using a Denon AVR3805 it sounded rather poor, with bass overpowering dialogue during loud action scenes, and music lacking in detail. Soundstaging was also average.

I've been looking at several (fairly low) budget receivers, such as the Sony STRD795, Denon 1905/2105, and Pioneer 814.

Any other suggestions an an amp that is capable of getting a good result from the speakers? Bearing in mind my limited budget!

I have been using evo package with yamaha 750se, marantz 5400.
In pure direct they sound superb.Although i had a couple of problems. The plinth split on one speaker and the centre speaker tweeter failed from the start but sevenoaks were very helpful and it was all sorted in a week. :smashin:

I have been using hte evo 3's and centre for over 8 months and love them to bits. The only speaker I have heard that beat them are there big brothers the AElites

I want a  icon. I think it would be much used :smashin:

Sideways topic step here, but....is there much difference between Evo 3 and Evo 1 on a decent stand (realise that evo 2 is fs of evo 1 by the way)? I have seen Evo 3 for £250, and Evo 1 for £130 plus say £60/70 for stands. Is the Evo 3 worth £50 more than an Evo 1 on stands?

It depends on how much you like your bass, the imaging of the Evo 3's is excellent and when you turn up the volume :D plus they look better IMHO

it will definitely sound better with stereo music where you might not use a sub, i think they also look a lot nicer :)

Evo 3's I'm guessing you mean? How well would these match the older aegis centre? I'd change it to match with an evo one at some point, mostly to match the colour, but just wondered. Sorry if this is a hijack
