What is going on here, when you reviewed the Acer V9800 it was £4695 however all other reviews (The latest being in HCC a couple of months before) put it at £4000, now you price the V7850 at £3250 whereas the rest priced it at £2750, now considering the prices of the Optoma are the same in all reviews, (Including yours) why are your process so high for the Acer, as this will affect its value for money rating? (Apart from the Euro the exchange rates have no altered that much)

These are prices from the Acer Store which Acer themselves sent me the link for when I asked for the SRP prices. The prices have gone up on the Acer products, this should have been £2699.99 but on the Acer store it is now £3280. The V9800 was £3999.99 but it also went up in price at the time I reviewed it to £4695. I don't set the prices, the manufacturer does that and we quote their prices for the product details. This projector would have been given a recommended badge had it actually been priced at £2699 and not the now inflated price. I can't speak for any other review site or magazine but it could be that they published when the prices were at the lower level, we always have the month listed with the information.
You could search and see if it is cheaper elsewhere, but we go by the SRP set on the manufacturers website or store at the time of review for the product information.

Looks like Acer is trying to make a fast buck or has thrown in the towel, as Optoma seems to be getting all the awards for their 4K DLP projectors, will you be testing the brighter (Supposedly better for a normal living room) and cheaper Optoma UHD60 & UHD550 at all.

Keep up the good work with the reviews, as it’s nice to see reviews with facts rather than applying magic to a product that certain other magazines seem to do.

The image isn't sharper because it uses 1 chip rather than three, but because it time sequentially overlaps a 4M array twice as opposed to a 2M array twice (JVC style).

Surely both help. Reports are its comparibly sharp relative to native 4k'ers.

Call me superficial, but I wouldn't shell out 3K on this for a home cinema because it looks like a business projector.
      That and I don't have 3K.

It is for sale at £2699.99 at richer sounds with a 6 year warranty. Cheaper than a UHD65 at £2999.99 before any discounting

How would you rate the black level and contrast and color of this projector in relation to
Epson EH-TW5350 i am thinking of upgrading buy only if there is a visible contrast improvement.

get a demo of one of the optomas - I suspect they will be pretty similar

all of the reviews from good sources say these TI machines have their strengths but contrast and lack levels are maybe not amongst them
