Acer Aspire Revo R3610 wireless advice

I bought the Revo a while back and have no problems with it apart from the Wireless Signal (I bought the version with the Wireless G Card) being a bit weak.

I am just about to upgrade to an N-Speed Router and can either upgrade the mini pci-e wireless card in the Revo with an N version or simply plug in a wireless N USB adapter.

Has anyone got any experience of what works the best? (I would definitely prefer to go with the wireless card to keep a USB socket free, but not at the expense of signal loss from an internal card).
