Hi i was given a used acer aspire 5051 laptop for the kids to use .I dont have a user manual to read up on the instructions to use it. It charges up ok and switches on no problem. But to use it i have to plug in a mouse to move the cursor on screen. Is there some setting i can change to control the arrow by using the little sensor pad at the front of the keys.

Thanks

hi,try the fn+f7 keys it should show a hand in a square on the f7 key, this should in theory turn on the touchpad.the fn button is bottom left and normally has a blue fn icon.

Hi Thanks for your reply.I followed your instructions and you were correct about these keys on pressing them i got a message on screen saying " touchpad enabled ".However when it is enabled the arrow on screen is still not reacting to the touchpad.

Is there anything else i can try , or do i have fault with this machine , and if so can anyone tell me if it is a major repair with big costs to fix it.

Thanks
