This particular model is hot off the press - I nearly ordered one last week (which didn't have had either HDMI or the HD-DVD), so very pleased I couldn't find one in stock. At £830 it's a little expensive for a HD-DVD player, but I was buying a new laptop anyway :)

Just like you I was trying to find the 5920G model for about a week but came across this last night ordered and should be with me tomorrow.

Couldn't pass up the opportunity for tremendous bangs for my bucks!

A thing to note, although the 5920H version has a HD-DVD drive and 250gb HD it has a 8600m GS graphics card as opposed to the 8600m GT graphics card present in the 5920G version. So any gamers looking to buy the 5920H version should bear this in mind.

There is considerable difference in performance between the two graphics cards from what I have read. I did order a 5920H but had to cancel  as I do plan on playing a fair amount of games.

BTW you can play HD DVDs without buying any more software (PowerDVD etc.) - the supplied Acer Media Center software plays them (Acer Arcade).

interested in this seemingly good value model - if anyone can post their experiences playing HD DVDs output via HDMI to a HDTV Id be grateful.
