Hi all,
I am looking to purchase an Acer Aspire 5720 Laptop from Tescos (£349). This comes preloaded with Windows Vista and Acer Software. As I am not a big fan of Windows Vista I would be looking to uninstall this and install Windows XP Pro instead.
I have read somewhere that by doing a full hard-drive reformat you also lose the Acer software which will have a negative effect on the laptops running.
I have phoned TescoDirect who couldn't shed any light on my query and told me to contact Acer. I have so far not been able to get through to their helpline, which is a bit of a concern to me in itself!
Can anyone confirm if it possible to install Windows XP without any ill-effect?
Many thanks.
