    Hi all,

I'm wanting to buy one of the above, hopefully today so I can have it for the weekend but just wanting to know which will give me the most bang for the buck!

They are all similarly specced and are HD ready(although the Acer is only through DVI and not HDMI and I think does upsampling to 1080i)

    Acer AL2671W £480
    Toshiba 27WL56 £599
    Samsung LE26R41BDX(Freeview £599

With only £120 difference between both the Toshiba and Samsung to the Acer which one should I go for?

Any opinions from owners of these or just general opinions would be much appreciated. :)

    Thanks! :smashin:

I have the Acer AL2671W @ £480 and I'm very pleased with it.

It looks much better in the flesh than in the photo's.

I have tried HDTV via a PC and that's excellent, the same goes for DVD via Component.

Sky is not obviously not as good, maybe only average at best.

I have not tried the aerial socket.

I have also not seen the others in your line up so it's hard to comment on which is the best.

I went through the same thought process as yourself, but decided to save the £120

Thanks for your opinions, I'm not gonna decide until tomorrow now and read more reviews. The £120 difference is quite a lot of money for me so will have to convince myself a bt more if I was to go for one of the other 2.

Do you have a games consoles at all? If so, how does the games on it fare? I play a lot of XBOX and want a good pic for that.

Is the RGB scart picture any good?

    Cheers. :)

Sorry I don't have a games console, but it works very nicely with a PC.

I am going to change my mind a little about the Sky PQ . It seems very dependant on the actual program at the time, last night "The Bill" was blotchy, but the program after "Lads Army" was very good as was "Big Brother"

I also don't have the problems that early posters on here had with the remote control and input searching, so I guess a later firmware has fixed this.

If you search AL2671W you will know what I'm talking about.

Overall I'm very pleased with the LCD :D

I bought the Acer from wehavethings and the tv was with me before 10am the next day.

The picture quality from my PC is fantastic and gaming is also very impressive (through my Xbox or PC).

Analogue tv (ie using the tv's built in tuner) gives a good picture but it can look pixelated on some programmes depending on your signal quality.

In terms of connectivity this tv has all the connections I could ever need.
The screen looks real good and it has saved so much space as I no longer need a PC monitor and tv - this does the lot.

Ensure your graphics card drivers are up to date on your PC so that it will recognise the Acer.

All in all a great buy and my advice is save yourself over £100 and buy it!
