Hi, I have just purchased (with the option to return) an Acer AL2671W 26" LCD TV. Here are a couple of issues I have. I will contact Acer in the morning to see what they have to say. Firstly, There is a problem with the remotes, or at least the reaction of other remotes on the AL2671W. I don't know if this happens with all remotes but after pressing a button to say, change channel on the AL2671W. Then when I press a button on another remote the TV replays the last command that was actioned on its own remote. This can be very confusing. If you press the round Enter button on the AL2671W before pressing a button on the other remote this does not happen. I believe this is a known problem to Acer but I don't know if there is a fix. Secondly, The instant a signal is not detected the TV immediately starts searching for another active input. This can be annoying but especially if you have a PC connected. e.g. The VGA input: If the signal is momentarily blanked the tv starts looking for a valid input rather than pausing where it is. It would have been better if you could disable the feature of scanning for a valid input. Thirdly, There is an option to power off if a signal is not detected after a certain time. Even with this set to off it still powers off. I am going to try the on position to see if they have been reversed. Fourthly, The remote is very directional, with no visual indication that it has received the IR beam. I will post any feedback I receive from Acer. Also when watching Sky if you increment the channel up or down button it again frequently thinks there it has lost signal and starts scanning the inputs. This is very annoying ! Looks like this is going back unless I can get a fix. There may be a service menu item that stops all this auto scanning of inputs. All I want to do is manually step through the inputs myself Just off the phone to Acer. The young lady there said that it would need to go back for a firmware update. She said that there was no way to stop TV auto scanning the inputs. So back it goes to the supplier on Friday as I won't be sending a brand new TV which I received on Tuesday back for a firmware update.
