Trying to get my PCH to find the files on my computer (H:) drive. Using NFS. Have set the IP/Host Name as 192.168.33.12 and the folder to share as h:

Keep getting the following error message when I try to connect;
"Please make sure the target server is running"

Cannot understand how it can be this difficult. anyone help?
When I use PSM from computer, my PCH reconizes it and I can watch movies, pics etc

Is this on a windows machine? NFS isn't natively supported on windows, you'll need to install something.

Use SMB instead.

Yes a windows Vista, do I need to install something for SMB, or just use SMB as option on my PCH?

Smb works fine on any windows machine natively.

Got a lot further, thanks to all tips and hints.
Status now: with firewall, no access,
firewall off it works.
any hints on which ports to open, or something else to do?
