My r2 Abyss SE disk appears to want to play in a 4:3 mode. If I use my Zoom TV function it looks better but black borders at top and bottom are wider than usual. (setting TV to WIDE reduces picture size even further!). Looking at my case it mentions 'Widescreen 4:3'. Is this a clue?! Anyone else had this problem?

    Thanks in advance

All regions of The Abyss are non-anamorphic. So you can't watch it in Wide mode, you have to use the Zoom. You will still get black bars because it has a 2.35:1 aspect ratio.

By the way, R2 is cut by 45 seconds due to the British Veterinary Association objecting to one of the scenes.
