About to order Infinity but how to keep existing number

Hi All,
I'm trying to order BT Infinity online line. I select the product etc. but when it gets to the telephone number it says there's already a number at this address and gives me two options:

Do you want to use the existing phone line?
1) Yes - I want to use the existing line

We'll do all the work for you - we'll contact the current owner of the line, transfer it to you at no charge and give you a new phone number.

2) No - I want a new line installed at this address

No problem - but installing a new line may incur a connection charge, which will be confirmed in the next steps. The existing phone line will remain unchanged.

I was thinking option 1 here but I don't want them to give me a new number. Can I not keep my number? Or am I missing something obvious here?
 
Open the BT chat window and explain this to the person on other end.
Yes, you'll be able to keep your current number.

I've just gone through to the next stages of the ordering process and it does seem to suggest that it will keep my current number.

Order summary says HH3 will be sent out so I haven't pulled the trigger yet.
Online chat thingie says on HH3 available online.

Probably needs to be a phone order to get HH4.
 
Sorry for the delay. Forgot I started this thread. :blush:

I'm with Sky for phone and BB at the moment.

When doing the online BT order, it did eventually say that they'd be keeping the same number for me.
(Didn't actually complete the order though cos order summary says HH3 supplied, but I want 4.)
