This is more of a curiosity.
Given there is no legal way of getting MKV/DivX yet in the uk (that I'm aware of) is this a gimmick or the sign of media delivery to come. That's not the question really...

Which other TV's reliably play MKV and DivX from a USB hard disk? Is it just Samsung pushing this or are other manufactures doing this without service menu/firmware hacks??

its too gimmicky imo, you are better off buying a cheap WDTV or more popular PCH and get a better tv. why spend money on the mkv function if its not properly implemented in the tv, for example sammys and their ability to not properly decode dts for stereo.

let the tv show you the picture, and let your amp or whatever player handle the sound vid processing.

oh and read that bluray players will have mkv support but again will it do anything with dts. i prefer dts over ac3 when it comes to mkv.
